Clarity That Drives Better Care
At Third Coast Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, precision starts with insight—and that begins with advanced 3D imaging and digital scanning technology. By capturing highly detailed, three-dimensional views of your teeth, jawbone, nerves, and surrounding structures, we’re able to diagnose conditions more accurately, plan procedures more effectively, and deliver surgical care that’s safer, faster, and more predictable. This modern approach replaces outdated 2D x-rays and messy impressions with faster, more comfortable, and far more informative tools that benefit both patients and clinical outcomes.
Cone Beam CT Scan
Our office uses the CareStream 9600 system. Simply, it is the most advanced digital xray machine available. This state-of-the-art technology helps Drs. Niquette and Lytle diagnose potential issues more accurately and provide treatment with unprecedented confidence. Unlike a traditional spiral CT scanner, this 3D system utilizes cone beam CT technology and provides precise, crystal-clear digital images while minimizing your exposure to radiation.
We will always be cognizant of our patient’s exposure to radiation and xrays. Every effort will be made to minimize repeat exposures. However, you should know radiation exposure from our xrays are less than you would receive from a day at the beach or during a round of golf!
Our new 3D system enables us to perform a wider range of diagnoses and treatments in our office, helping to reduce multiple visits. The CS 9600 scanner allows us to choose the field of view, or scanning area, that best suits your specific treatment needs. This helps to limit your radiation exposure because we are focusing specifically on your area of concern.
The CS 9600 system brings the latest 3D Cone Beam technology to Third Coast Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, providing unmatched visualization of anatomical detail. This aids in treatment planning and helps us to better explain the particulars of your case, as well as address any questions you may have.
Drs. Niquette and Lytle can use this innovative technology to quickly and easily share 3D images of the area of concern with your referring doctor – allowing the doctors to collaborate on your care, improving your experience, and delivering a positive treatment outcome.
Digital Scanning
A digital scanner replaces the unpleasant taste, salivation, and gagging associated with traditional impressions. By using a hand-held wand to optically scan the area, your entire impression is created 100% digitally. The impression is then electronically transmitted to our computer software and 3D printer for further use and manufacture
The patented 3-D digital technology enables your dentist and laboratory to create restorations with unmatched precision and accuracy.
This allows us to fabricate implant surgical guides, immediate dental implant temporaries, or full arch prosthetics. We are excited to offer this technology as part of our digital treatment planning workflow.
