Christopher C. Niquette Jr., DDS
Dr. Christopher, ‘Chip,’ Niquette was born in Heidelberg, Germany when his parents were serving as dentists in the U.S. Army. He grew up in Fremont, Michigan and he knew from a very young age that he wanted to follow the example of his parents and deliver high-quality dental care to the West Michigan community.
Dr. Niquette received his Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. While there, he took a special interest in oral surgery.
He went on to complete an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Westchester Medical Center through New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. During his time in residency, he gained excellent experience in facial trauma, cosmetic surgery, anesthesia, and major surgical procedures. He was chosen to participate in the Osteo Science Foundation Clinical Observership Program where he learned and studied under Dr. Daniel Spagnoli, a highly-acclaimed bone scientist and clinician.
Following this opportunity, Dr. Niquette was invited to be the first ever fellow of Dr. Spagnoli’s practice in Brunswick County, North Carolina. During his fellowship he furthered his training in tissue engineering, bone augmentation, advanced dental implantology, and complex reconstructive surgeries.
His surgical management of multiple myeloma was published in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Cases journal. He has also written a textbook chapter in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics on bone grafting techniques after tooth extraction.
Dr. Niquette is dedicated to building a full-scope, state of the art practice here in West Michigan. He further believes it is his professional duty to provide care in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He regularly takes call at Metro Health Hospital and Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital. He has a special interest in the orthognathic surgery for jaw re-alignment, dental implantology and bone grafting for reconstruction. Dr. Niquette is dedicated to propelling his specialty forward and focuses on adapting new technology to streamline care for a more efficient and improved patient experience. He continues to further his education and skills by taking advanced training courses in different aspects of surgery and anesthesia.
Outside of surgery, Chip enjoys cheering on the Michigan Wolverines, traveling, and skiing. He and his wife of two years are excited to be back in Michigan and are enjoying all that the Grand Rapids area has to offer.
